How Can We Achieve Reliable GPS Performance in Urban Environments While Meeting Automotive Quality Standards?

The MC-1612-G2 delivers ISO/TS 16949 certified quality with multi-constellation tracking (GPS+GLONASS+GALILEO+QZSS) and built-in 12-tone interference cancellation, ensuring superior urban canyon performance. With only 25mA power consumption and multi-path compensation, it's engineered specifically for automotive-grade reliability. Contact us to receive integration samples and technical documentation for your next-generation navigation system.

Engineered for demanding automotive, marine, and surveying applications, this ISO/TS 16949 certified module integrates a built-in 12 multi-tone active interference canceller and indoor/outdoor multi-path detection and compensation for reliable positioning accuracy. The MC-1612-G2 supports up to 10 Hz update rates, delivers ±11ns high-accuracy time pulse (1PPS) for static timing applications, and includes built-in data logger functionality. With UART interface, RTCM SC-104 Version 2.x support, and SMD packaging with stamp holes, this RoHS-compliant module offers seamless integration into personal positioning devices, automotive navigation systems, marine equipment, and surveying instruments requiring robust multi-constellation GNSS performance in a small form factor.

LOCOSYS MC-1612-G2 is a complete standalone GNSS module.
LOCOSYS MC-1612-G2 is a complete standalone GNSS module.

LOCOSYS MC-1612-G2 is based on MediaTek advanced new generation MT3333 GNSS chip. It is a complete standalone GNSS module which can simultaneously acquire and track multiple satellite constellations that include GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS and SBAS.

It features low power and small form factor. Besides, it can provide you with superior sensitivity and performance even in urban canyon and dense foliage environment.

This module supports hybrid ephemeris prediction to achieve faster cold start. One is self-generated ephemeris prediction (called EASY) that is no need of both network assistance and host CPU's intervention.

This is valid for up to 3 days and updates automatically from time to time when GNSS module is powered on and satellites are available. The other is server-generated ephemeris prediction (called EPO) that gets from an internet server. This is valid for up to 14 days. Both ephemeris predictions are stored in the on-board flash memory and perform a cold start time less than 15 seconds.
