How Can Automotive OEMs Meet Stringent Quality Standards While Achieving Fast Cold Start Performance?

The MC-1612-G delivers IATF 16949-certified quality with hybrid ephemeris prediction achieving cold start under 15 seconds—critical for automotive applications. With multi-constellation tracking (GPS/GLONASS/GALILEO/QZSS) and SBAS support, your navigation systems gain superior urban canyon performance while meeting automotive-grade reliability standards. Contact us to receive detailed integration specifications and automotive compliance documentation for your next-generation navigation platform.

Designed for rapid deployment and reliable operation, the MC-1612-G features hybrid ephemeris prediction technology that achieves cold start times under 15 seconds. The module offers both self-generated EASY ephemeris (valid for 3 days) and server-generated EPO ephemeris (valid for 14 days), both stored in on-board flash memory for network-independent operation. Additional advanced features include a built-in 12 multi-tone active interference canceller, indoor/outdoor multi-path detection and compensation, built-in data logger, and update rates up to 10 Hz. Manufactured under IATF 16949 quality control standards and RoHS compliant, the MC-1612-G is the ideal positioning solution for automotive navigation, drone guidance systems, marine applications, 5G routers, and femtocell devices requiring reliable, high-performance GNSS reception.

LOCOSYS MC-1612-G is a complete standalone GNSS module.

LOCOSYS MC-1612-G is a complete standalone GNSS module. The module can simultaneously acquire and track multiple satellite constellations that include GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS and SBAS. It features low power and small form factor. Besides, it can provide you with superior sensitivity and performance even in urban canyon and dense foliage environment.
This module supports hybrid ephemeris prediction to achieve faster cold start. One is self-generated ephemeris prediction (called EASY) that is no need of both network assistance and host CPU’s intervention.
This is valid for up to 3 days and updates automatically from time to time when GNSS module is powered on and satellites are available.
The other is server-generated ephemeris prediction (called EPO) that gets from an internet server. This is valid for up to 14 days. Both ephemeris predictions are stored in the on-board flash memory and perform a cold start time less than 15 seconds.
