LV-1612-DR ( L1+L5+DR )
LV-1612-DR
LOCOSYS LV-1612-DR is a high-performance L1 + L5 dual-band, multi-constellation GNSS module with integrated sensor-fusion dead reckoning (DR), designed for robust navigation and high-precision positioning applications. It supports all major GNSS constellations, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS and SBAS, and integrates inertial sensors, including a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope, to enable seamless untethered dead reckoning.
Untethered Dead Reckoning (UDR) is an advanced navigation technology that enables continuous and accurate positioning when GNSS signals are weak or unavailable, such as in tunnels, under elevated roads, urban canyons, indoor parking areas and other GNSS-denied environments. By using the built-in inertial sensors, the LV-1612-DR can maintain navigation continuity during GNSS outages without requiring a connection to vehicle speed signals or the vehicle drive train. Unlike ADR, which typically requires integration with vehicle transmission or speed signal wiring, UDR provides a simpler and more flexible installation method, making it especially suitable for motorcycles, vehicle tracking, shared mobility, fleet management and aftermarket navigation applications.
By combining dual-frequency L1 + L5 reception with multi-constellation tracking, the LV-1612-DR delivers enhanced positioning accuracy, stronger satellite availability and improved signal robustness in challenging environments such as urban canyons and weak-signal conditions. With built-in inertial sensors and advanced sensor-fusion algorithms, the module maintains continuous navigation during GNSS outages, effectively reducing the impact of multipath errors and ensuring reliable positioning in tunnels, indoor parking facilities and other GNSS-denied scenarios.
The integrated inertial sensors also support vehicle motion sensing, enabling abnormal driving behavior detection and vehicle status monitoring with alert functions.Featuring automatic calibration and orientation-free installation, the module is easy to integrate and ideal for rapid deployment. With seamless positioning continuity, high accuracy and strong environmental adaptability, the LV-1612-DR is an ideal solution for automotive navigation, fleet management, smart mobility and advanced IoT tracking applications.
At the core of the LV-1612-DR is a highly integrated GNSS receiver chipset and positioning engine built on an advanced RF and baseband integration architecture. The module incorporates a Cortex-M4F processing core operating at 350 MHz, fabricated in 22-nm technology and housed in a compact 4 × 4 mm package. This architecture enables high computational performance while maintaining excellent power efficiency. Through advanced signal search strategies and intelligent positioning algorithms, the receiver can evaluate tens of millions of time-frequency hypotheses per second, substantially improving signal acquisition capability and reducing time-to-first-fix (TTFF).
Its outstanding cold-start sensitivity and tracking performance allow the receiver to rapidly obtain and maintain position fixes even in weak-signal or partially obstructed environments. In addition, the multi-frequency architecture enables sub-meter-level positioning accuracy without reliance on ground-based augmentation systems, further enhancing solution reliability.
As a highly integrated GNSS module, the LV-1612-DR is designed to streamline system development and lower the barrier to integrating high-performance satellite positioning capabilities. RF circuitry, baseband processing, filtering, amplification stages, positioning algorithms and system interfaces are fully optimized and pre-integrated within the module. This eliminates the need for complex RF design and GNSS signal tuning at the system level, allowing developers to rapidly incorporate reliable positioning functionality into their products.
By adopting the LV-1612-DR module, engineering teams can significantly reduce hardware design complexity, shorten RF calibration cycles, simplify system integration and mitigate development risks, while accelerating product development timelines and reducing overall time-to-market. These characteristics make the module particularly attractive for applications requiring rapid product deployment, easy installation and high operational stability.
To ensure long-term product reliability and consistent manufacturing quality, LOCOSYS operates under the internationally recognized automotive quality management standard IATF 16949 for product design, manufacturing and quality assurance processes. Originating from the stringent requirements of the automotive electronics industry, this quality framework encompasses comprehensive design verification, supply chain management, manufacturing process control and continuous improvement practices.
By adhering to the IATF 16949 quality management system, LOCOSYS ensures that each product meets rigorous standards for performance, stability and traceability. This commitment to quality provides customers with a reliable and durable GNSS solution while reinforcing the LV-1612-DR’s competitiveness in automotive, industrial and other high-reliability navigation markets.
For customers with higher automotive-grade requirements, LOCOSYS also offers an optional module version featuring a built-in AEC-Q100 automotive-grade chipset. This option is available upon request to support applications requiring enhanced reliability and compliance with automotive-grade component standards.
