How Can You Meet Automotive-Grade Quality Standards While Minimizing GPS Module Footprint?

The MC-1612 combines IATF 16949 certified quality control with an ultra-compact 16x12.2mm form factor, specifically designed for automotive applications. With MediaTek MT3339 chipset, 66-channel tracking, and SBAS capability, it delivers reliable navigation performance while meeting stringent automotive industry standards. Contact our team to receive detailed integration specifications and automotive compliance documentation for your next-generation navigation system.

Advanced features include hybrid ephemeris prediction technology that enables cold start times of less than 15 seconds through both self-generated prediction (valid for 3 days) and server-generated prediction (valid for 14 days), eliminating the need for network assistance. The module incorporates a built-in 12 multi-tone active interference canceller for enhanced signal integrity, indoor and outdoor multi-path detection and compensation, and a built-in data logger for comprehensive tracking capabilities. With update rates up to 10 Hz, ±11ns high-accuracy time pulse (1PPS), UART interface, and IATF 16949 quality control certification, the MC-1612 SMD-type module with stamp holes meets the demanding requirements of automotive OEMs, aftermarket suppliers, and professional navigation equipment manufacturers worldwide.

LOCOSYS GPS MC-1612 module features high sensitivity, low power and ultra small form factor. This
GPS module's functionality is using MediaTek All-in-One GPS chip, MT3339, and it provides you with superior sensitivity and performance even in urban canyon and dense foliage environment.
This module supports hybrid ephemeris prediction to achieve faster cold start. One is self-generated
ephemeris prediction that is no need of both network assistance and host CPU’s intervention. This is valid for up to 3 days and updates automatically from time to time when GPS module is powered on and satellites are available. The other is server-generated ephemeris prediction that gets from an internet server. This is valid for up to 14 days. Both ephemeris predictions are stored in the on-board flash memory and perform a cold start time less than 15 seconds.
