Q&A
Q1. How can I confirm if the GB-10xB is operating correctly?
A: When the GB-10xB is functioning properly, the power LED indicator will remain solid blue, and the network and positioning LED indicators will show steady or blinking lights. For detailed instructions, please refer to the manual.
Q2. How can I tell if the GB-10xB is malfunctioning or experiencing issues?
A: If a red light appears, it may indicate a problem. In this case, it is recommended to power off the device and restart it. Consult the manual for further details.
Q3. How do I adjust the antenna to improve satellite signal reception?
A: Place the antenna in an open area with a clear view of the sky, avoiding tall trees or buildings. For further guidance, please refer to the instructional video.
Q4. Is the antenna secure in strong wind conditions?
A: The antenna itself is wind-resistant. It is advised to tighten screws for added stability to prevent movement.
Q5. Will dust or bird droppings on the antenna surface affect signal reception?
A: Dust and bird droppings have minimal impact on the signal, but regular cleaning is recommended.
Q6. Is grounding required for the external RTK antenna?
A: Some countries require antennas to be grounded. If the building has a grounding system, connect the TNC terminal of the antenna to the building’s grounding point.
Q7. Can the GB-10xB function with a dynamically assigned IP address?
A: Yes, it can operate with a dynamic IP (DHCP) as long as the network connection remains stable. Avoid public networks, as they may have bandwidth limits or geographical restrictions that can impact connection quality.
Q8. How do I check the signal if I have concerns?
A: Most GNSS devices allow checking signal strength and satellite count. We recommend contacting your supplier for relevant features.
Q9. Will GNSS/RTK antennas or other equipment interfere with the signal?
A: The GNSS/RTK antenna signal may be affected by LTE cell towers, TV towers, air conditioner motors, or poor antenna placement. To reduce interference, keep the antenna away from these strong signal sources.
Q10. Can the WiFi connection on the GB unit operate on the 5G band?
A: The WiFi AP offers both 2.4G and 5G frequencies. For optimal range, stability, and compatibility, we strongly recommend setting it to 2.4G.
Q11. What is the estimated monthly data usage for the GB-104B (4G-LTE)?
A: Data transmission is around 90 KB per second, averaging approximately 5 GB per month.
Q12. What is the effective range for the Mountpoint in NTRIP?
A: The effective range for Mountpoint is typically within 10 kilometers.
Q13. What are the power options for the RTK base station? Can it operate without the internal battery?
A: The RTK base station is powered via USB-C, which also charges the internal lithium battery. In the event of a power outage, the internal battery provides around 8 hours of operation.
Q14. What is the warranty period for the RTK base station?
A: With normal use, the base station and antenna typically last 3-5 years or more. The product warranty covers 1 year, excluding damage from natural disasters, misuse, or external forces (e.g., water damage, power surges, lightning strikes).
Q15. What is the maximum length for the antenna coaxial cable? Can I extend it or use a splitter?
A: The standard coaxial cable length is 10 meters, but you may extend it up to 30 meters with the same specifications. Splitters are not recommended as they may cause signal interference.
Q16. Can I use an iPhone with the device?
A: Currently, only Android smartphones are supported. We recommend Android OS version 10 or higher, as older versions may not be compatible.
